Future Facility Vision

Kinder Academy is preparing for a major renovation and addition to its existing facility to better serve local families.

  • The updated facility will expand Kinder Academy’s licensed capacity to serve approximately 60 or more children.
  • Renovation will occur across two existing levels and a basement, all of which will be updated to meet the needs of a growing early childhood program.
  • The new and renovated spaces will be designed to meet state licensure requirements and reflect current best practices in early childhood education environments.
  • Additional classrooms, support spaces, and child-friendly features will ensure a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for all ages served.
  • Planning is focused on flexibility, long-term growth, and maintaining a high-quality educational setting for children and staff alike.

Recent Progress

  • In July 2025, Kinder Academy completed a successful garage renovation project, transforming the space into a recreational room for preschool-age students.
  • That project was funded through a combination of Childcare Tax Credit contributions, Thayer County Big Give donations, local grants, and community support.
  • Construction was led by GEN2 Contracting with support from Belle Prairie Electric LLC.
